FR SOLUTIONS FOR EVERY INDUSTRY

Our comprehensive range of industry-leading options guarantees a perfect fit for a wide variety of industrial applications. Here you’ll find everything from EXCEL FR™ and EXCEL FR™ ComforTouch® offerings to our Molten Metal Protection line, introduced as the definitive solution for molten metal splash resistance.

HOW FLAME RESISTANT FABRICS WORK

Normal work apparel will ignite and continue to burn if exposed to an ignition source such as flame or electric arc. Everyday fabrics will continue to burn until they are extinguished or all flammable material is consumed Flame-resistant (FR) fabrics and garments are intended to resist ignition, prevent the spread of flames away from the immediate area of high heat impingement, and to self-extinguish almost immediately upon removal of the ignition source.

Bulwark's FR protective work apparel is secondary protective clothing, which is designed for continuous wear in designated areas where intermittent exposure to flame or heat is possible. It is to be used in conjunction with primary protective clothing for activities where significant exposure to flame or heat is likely, such as molten substance splash.

Arc Flash Protective Clothing

We exclusively carry Bulwark FR work apparel because we consider it to be the best arc wear in the industry. When deciding on what arc wear will give you the best protection, it is best to follow these 3 simple steps:

  1. Conduct Both a Shock & Flash Hazard Analysis
    • This analysis is important to determine your flash protection boundary. It is inside of this boundary where risk of 2nd degree burn can occur from electric arc exposure.
  2. Determine PPE Clothing Needs Based on the Degree of Hazard
  3. Select Protective FR Clothing and Coveralls
    • Arc wear garments are rated based on their ability to protect against electrical arc flash. This arc rating is expressed in cal/cm and this standard requires that garments have a minimum arc rating listed on the garment label.
